The Juniper Flats And The Quail Mountain
This is the highest point of the trail. If one looks towards the northeast from there, outstanding views of the Wonderland of Rocks and the Hidden Valley can be seen. If one looks over the ridge lines while continuing in the trail, within the next two kilometers itself Mts. San Jocinto and San Gorgonio can be seen. The Northern view all along the way is dominated by the Quail Mountain.

It is a tough climb to reach the summit of the mountain, but if you do you certainly do get bragging rights. The hike to reach the top of the mountain takes around three hours. This is certainly an exhilarating experience. So if you are bored by the mundane and drab life of the city, head down to California. The Juniper Flats and the Quail Mountain is waiting for you. You can go to the mountains by your foot from any direction.
Regular routes utilizes mostly the California hiking and riding trail beginning from the keys view traverses barren and roads, burned deserts 4.5 miles to the Juniper Flats. The mountains are used to be wrapped with pinyon pines and juniper, but a range of distressing fires in the year 1999 as well as 2001 burned all the mountains and now it’s quite barren.
